Bush's Economic Stimulus Plan
President Bush says the rebate checks should help Americans cope with rising fuel and food prices, and aid the slumping economy. The rebates - up to $600 for an invidual, $1200 for a couple and an additional $300 per dependent child - are part of the government's $168 billion stimulus package.
