CBS doesn't have to pay $500K for Janet's Superbowl "flash?"
The FCC's fine against CBS for the 2004 Super Bowl's Janet Jackson "exposure" was dismissed by a federal appeals court. The FCC used to excuse brief instances of indecency during live broadcasts, and it was on these grounds (the FCC did not inform CBS of its policy change) that the fine was thrown out. Viewed as a victory by all broadcasters, was it the right decision by the court?
